NEET SS 2023 Exam Pattern and Marking Scheme : NEET SS 2023 is the gateway for medical professionals to pursue Super Specialty Courses for the academic session 2023-24.

To understand the examination better, let’s delve into the exam pattern and marking scheme, as approved by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India, and the National Medical Commission (NMC).

NEET SS 2023 will be a computer-based examination, with different groups being tested in morning or afternoon shifts. The pattern of the examination has been changed this year, adopting a group-based approach.

There will be a total of 13 different question papers for all DM/MCh/DrNB courses, with each group having a primary feeder broad specialty subject.

The question paper will contain 150 questions to be answered within 2.5 hours, with 25% negative marking for incorrect answers. Understanding the exam pattern and marking scheme is essential for candidates preparing for NEET SS 2023.

NEET SS Group-Based Examination

• NEET SS 2023 will be a group-based examination with a total of 13 different groups.
• Each group will cover superspecialty courses related to a particular primary feeder broad specialty subject.
• Candidates can choose any super specialty subject as per their feeder specialty.

Primary Feeder Specialties

• Each group will have a primary feeder broad specialty subject, covering the general/basic component and all sub-specialty/systems/components of that subject.
• Candidates must appear in the question paper of the respective group, based on their PG specialty qualification, which is an eligible feeder qualification for a super specialty course.

NEET SS 2023 Exam Pattern

• The question paper will contain 150 questions to be answered within 2.5 hours (150 minutes).
• Questions will be from the General/Basic component of the primary feeder broad specialty subject and all its sub-specialty/systems/components.
• All 150 questions will be from the Curriculum of the Post Graduate Exit level of the primary feeder broad specialty subject.

Multiple Eligible Broad Specialty Feeder

• If more than one broad specialty is eligible feeder for a super specialty subject, candidates from all such eligible feeder specialties must appear in the question paper of the respective group.
• For each group, candidates’ choices in the counseling will be limited to the superspecialty subjects covered in that group, and for which their broad specialty is an eligible feeder.

NEET SS Marking Scheme

• Each correct response will be awarded 4 marks.
• For incorrect responses, 1 mark will be deducted (25% negative marking).
• Unattempted questions will not result in any marks deduction.
