BITSAT 2024 Eligibility Criteria

BITSAT 2024 Eligibility Criteria determine who can apply for the prestigious Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test (BITSAT) in 2024.

To be eligible, you need to meet certain requirements set by BITS Pilani, the leading institute of higher education in India.

Firstly, you must have completed the 12th examination from a recognized Central or State board or its equivalent. For most programs, you should have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, along with a good command of English. However, if you’re interested in the B. Pharm. program, studying Physics, Chemistry, and Biology is necessary. Students who have taken PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) can also apply for the Pharmacy program.

In terms of marks, you must have obtained a minimum aggregate of 75% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (or Biology for Pharmacy) in the 12th examination. Additionally, you need to score a minimum of 60% in each of these subjects.

Eligibility is limited to students who will be appearing for the 12th examination in 2024 or those who have passed it in 2023. Multiple attempts are considered, but only the latest performance is taken into account if all the required subjects were covered.

1. BITS Pilani – Pilani Campus:
   • B.E.: Chemical, Civil, Computer Science, Electrical and Electronics, Electronics & Instrumentation, Electronics & Communication, Mechanical, Manufacturing.
   • B. Pharm.
   • M.Sc.*: Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Economics, Mathematics, Physics.
   • M.Sc.: General Studies.
2. BITS Pilani – K. K. Birla Goa Campus:
   • B.E.: Chemical, Computer Science, Electronics & Communication, Electrical and Electronics, Electronics & Instrumentation, Mechanical.
   • M.Sc.*: Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Economics, Mathematics, Physics.
3. BITS Pilani – Hyderabad Campus:
   • B.E.: Chemical, Civil, Computer Science, Electronics & Communication, Electrical and Electronics, Electronics & Instrumentation, Mechanical.
   • B. Pharm.
   • M.Sc.*: Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Economics, Mathematics, Physics.

Educational Qualifications

• Candidates should have passed the 12th examination of the 10+2 system from a recognized Central or State board or its equivalent.
• For all programs except B. Pharm., candidates should have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, along with adequate proficiency in English.
• For the B. Pharm. program, candidates should have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, along with adequate proficiency in English. However, candidates with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) may also apply for the Pharmacy program.

Minimum Marks Requirement

• Candidates must have obtained a minimum aggregate of 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (if Mathematics is taken in BITSAT), or a minimum aggregate of 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (if Biology is taken in BITSAT) in the 12th examination.
• Additionally, candidates must have scored at least 60% marks in each of the Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology subjects.

Year of Examination

• Only students who are appearing for the 12th examination in 2024 or who have passed the 12th examination in 2023 are eligible to appear in BITSAT 2024.
• If a candidate has attempted the 12th class or its equivalent multiple times, only the latest performance will be considered, provided it covers the full component of subjects/courses prescribed.
• Students who passed the 12th examination in 2021 or earlier are NOT eligible to appear in BITSAT 2024.
• Students currently studying in BITS at any of its campuses are not eligible to appear in BITSAT 2024.

Merit-Based Admission

• Admissions will be based purely on merit.
• The candidate’s merit position for admission will be determined by their score in BITSAT 2024.
• However, eligibility for admission is subject to fulfilling the minimum marks requirement in the 12th examination, as mentioned earlier.

Direct Admission to Board Toppers

• First-rank students of State and Central boards in India for the year 2024 will be given direct admission to the program of their choice, irrespective of their BITSAT 2024 score, as per the eligibility criteria.
